4月1日在许多国家有过“愚人节”（April Fool's Day）的习俗，在这天人们会对别人开玩笑，或者上演一些恶作剧。恶作剧的受害者被称为“4月愚人”（April Fool）。

善意的小玩笑无伤大雅，但也一定要注意分寸哦。正如一句谚语所说：a fool may sometimes throw a stone into a well which a hundred wise men cannot pull out，“一个愚人所造成的损失，一百个聪明人也弥补不过来。”

2. a fool and his money are soon parted

【谚】傻瓜口袋漏，有钱留不住：

His parents are in a fool’s paradise, if they believe he is working hard for his examinations. He goes out every night.

如果他的父母相信他正在刻苦准备考试，那他们是在 做黄粱美梦。他每天晚上都外出娱乐。

17. fools rush in where angels fear to tread

【谚】智者却步处，愚者独敢闯；傻子不知天高地厚

注：本语源出亚历山大•蒲伯（Alexander Pope, 1688 ~ 1744)的《批评论》 (An Essay on Criticism)。语中的“angels”一词意指“聪明人”或“经验较丰富的人”，有时可用特定的“人”或“人们”取代“angels”用作主语，如：

My brother very rarely gives an opinion on matters he knows little about — we cer­tainly didn't expect him to rush in where angels fear to tread.

我的兄弟对于他知之不多的事情总是很少发表意见 ——我们当然不能指望他冒失表态。
